Calling New York

If you are in the New York City area this Thursday evening, you need to see my-sister-from-a- prior-life,  Sarah Slean.    Sarah is on tour in Atlantic Canada, and has graciously agreed to come and perform Thursday, with the Canadian Songwriter's Circle.  This is a benefit for Hurricane Sandy Relief. Marc Jordan and Sam Roberts will also be performing.

Sarah is an amazing songwriter, orchestrator, conductor, singer, pianist, and this is just on a Tuesday for her. Later in a given week she might add poetess, activist, and painter.   I suspect she would have been a pretty terrific cardiologist too had she eventually chosen that path, which was originally also a consideration for her.
I can't leave the farm this week or I would be there myself.  For those of you who can, please do.

Sarah Slean "Out in the Park"

Sarah has an amazing double album out which is simply some of the best music you will find anywhere. It's called "Land and Sea" and you can buy a copy on Amazon.com or at sarahslean.com

You can get this in CD form or in vinyl.  "Land and Sea" is a double album. "Land" reflects the more popular original music, and "Sea" are more orchestral, ethereal arrangements.  Again, this may be one of the best albums out there, anywhere.

I wish I were in NYC right now. My daghter and two grandchildren are there. We would enjoy her performance.

These days, Sarah is not in the US much. She spends a lot of time in Paris, and touring Canada, and so a one evening performance in the US is a rarity. It promises to be a great performance. Thanks Sarah for caring about Hurricane Sandy survivors. See you in Halifax !
