Since 2017, the Asian longhorned tick has been found within the United States. This is concerning information. Ten U.S. states are presently impacted. New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Tennessee and East Coast states are impacted. This tick is known to carry a number of diseases including a thrombocytopenic fever that is normally seen in Asia. Because this tick is new here, it is suspected that it may carry, in time, the diseases the other ticks carry such as Lyme Disease, Erlichiosis, and others.
