Periodically, I mention products that you might wish to have that are helpful in terms of preparedness. This is usually a tough post to write because it needs to have something for everyone, fledgling preppers to the experienced families. This item is a little too pricey for me, but I think it's an important device to know about, and for some, it might be a good idea. This is the inReach Satellite Communicator. This is the information from the manufacturer. This particular device is available at REI.com for $299. There is a ten dollar monthly fee for its use, but there are also seasonal contracts which may make the device cheaper to own and use. For some families and individuals, this device could be a lifesaver, particularly during an emergency when cellular towers are out.

The last item I would like to profile today is called Fiber fix. Fiberfix is a product which the manufacturer states is 100 times stronger than duct tape. The high tensile strength product is impact resistant and consists of a special resin which hardens over time. This makes it excellent for repair of products which need to remain very strong, like shovel handles, wheelbarrow handles, vacuum cleaner parts etc.
