However, this...I am excited about the repair tape. However, this is not suitable material for casting. The most important is that you could not remove this, and casts must be able to be removed, sometimes quite quickly. Secondly, the resin used should not be applied around skin (or stockinet)
Most serious medical survivalists focus on having excellent splinting but not casting. Casting removal being the priority, you would need the casting saw. The casting material and stockinet material which goes under a cast, is available relatively inexpensively from veterinary supply houses, like http://millpledgeveterinary.us/
Casting a human limb is not recommended without medical training, as the padding of bony prominences under the cast is essential. It's a skill for which people need special training. I inherited a fairly new Yaesu, but have not yet tackled an antenna, or the basic license. This is something I need to do. My father was a HAM operator for all his adult life. The satellite communicator might be helpful for those who travel in areas without cell service or who hunt in secluded regions. Thanks so much for the link. Glad you have communications licked where you are ! Cell phones and home phones didn't work. The provider advised to text and messages will eventually get out. My husband and I refused not to have communications again. We purchased two Baofeng Ham Radios, and will be getting our licenses. These work really good, and have resolved our communication issues. My husband found write up's and referrals on this radio from the Survival Blog. Here are the radios and there not expensive.http://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-UV5RA-136-174-Dual-Band-Transceiver/dp/B009MAKWC0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1384393510&sr=8-1&keywords=baofeng+ham+radios+uv-5ra Sandy Livesayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06183449816586125720noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1185219031783989911.post-88191760063478913082013-11-13T17:32:16.176-08:002013-11-13T17:32:16.176-08:00I like the look of that repair tape.
