There Are Always Opportunities

One of my sons has been looking at buying a piece of land west of us, and in his checking comparative listings, he came across this home, listed for sale by owner, just fourteen hours ago.   It is located in a county just forty- five minutes from world class health care at the University of Virginia Medical Center, in Virginia  It is twenty five minutes from a Super Wal-Mart. Otherwise, it is a rural county with a small town feel.
There are lots of real estate opportunities available right now.  People are trading up, moving out, or acquiring before the financial landscape gets any crazier.   (No, I don't see improvements in the economy either.)

Of course, I have no financial interest in either of these homes, and I do not know the sellers.
Even after these homes have sold, I will leave this post up, so that people can see the type of listing which exist, in both rural Virginia and most other places in the country.   If you seek a more rural place, in ALL price ranges,  this might be the time to do it.

Update:  Both of these homes have now sold, but the point of the post is the same.  There are always opportunities no matter what the situation.

The housing market in our area also has some great buying opportunities as well. We are closing on a 2340 sq ft one level house in a great neighborhood [still suburbs though] for $168K. I believe that inflation will start to rise, so buyer a house makes good senses for tangible real estate. I'll have a new post soon after we close.

I have my eye on a property also, it's a funky place that would suit me to a tee and would sell for a lot less than what your son is looking at. But I won't buy another place unless I could pay cash for it, no payments for me.

Good job. I have always made money in real estate, in all types of economies. I think we still need to buy when we need to, but be careful doing so. Best wishes !

My son also plans to pay cash. He is buying a two acre lot and will worry about building later. If things change too much, he can sell, and then use that for a start somewhere else. Good luck with your subject property !
