Worries Tonight for Nova Scotia

This is how some of the coastal villages appear normally in Winter.

This definitely relates to preparedness issues.

This is the update for the following day, with pictures:

Said a prayer for your property and ALL your northern neighbors.

I have been less focused on my US Northern neighbors because I get news from all of them rather easily. I have to work hard to get news from my Nova Scotian neighbors and to get news on the house and the secluded area it's in. Thanks for the prayers !

That's pretty bad. I pray kymber and jambaloney are OK on their little island.

They are six hours from my place, and although they got snow, and an uptick in wind, the worst weather was over the Southern Shore and the lower half. I did try to call them last evening, and they were not at home. They should be ok.

hey Jane - thanks for thinking of us (and you, too, Mamma!). we are fine - we got the very tail end of the storm, it was windy and we got about a foot of snow. most of that should melt tomorrow. i am so sorry for my mainland neighbours as some places have been hit pretty badly. Jane, i am sure that your house will be fine!

your friend,
kymber

Kymber, Thanks so much for checking in ! There is significant damage on our road above the ocean. Several barns have collapsed, roofing is missing, and some of the houses toward the lighthouse who had vinyl siding placed over their cedar shakes have lost the siding. Ours seems intact, but will have to wait for it to be clear and bright to be fully inspected. We may need to have some repairs made to our barns. There is always some type of excitement there. Either a sea lion on our front porch or a beached whale across from us. At least we had the foresight to move our picnic table. It would have blown away ! Love to you and Jam !

Oh Jane! Devastating! Pray that all will be well for those you care for and your home there.
God bless and be with those in the path of storms tonight, where ever those storms might be.

I love our home there, but most of all I worry for the good people there. Canada has 10% of the population of the US, but there is a consideration for fellow man that some of us in the more populous areas have forgotten. Thanks for your kind wishes, Marie. Love to you and yours.
